Welcome Home Video Campaign

Nell writes:

I have been a member of Nashville Organized for Action and Hope’s (NOAH) Affordable Housing Task Force since its inception four years ago.  I am also an active member of the Welcome Home Campaign for Affordable Housing

History tells us that music can be a powerful tool for social change. Michael and I were inspired to write a song called Welcome Home.  Now we need to raise $3000 to make a music video of the song. Welcome Home music & lyrics.

Each verse in the song is about a population that has been impacted by Nashville’s lack of affordable housing.   We have enlisted the enthusiastic support of five partner organizations to help us co-create this video.  They are Homes For All, Open Table, Veterans for Peace Chapter 89, Workers Dignity and American Federation of Musicians Local 257.

Our partners will help us script, find actors and locations and edit the video.  We will be working with a professional videographer who will oversee this process. The final version will be released with much fanfare at a Gala Premier in early 2019. It will be used as part of a campaign around the city to educate and mobilize people in support of affordable housing.

Can you help us?  We are looking for 30 affordable housing advocates to give us $100 but any amount you can give will be appreciated. Our goal is to raise this money by January 1, 2019.  Tax-deductible donations can be made via the non-profit Tennessee Alliance for Progress at www.taptn.org. You can also mail a check to TAP, PO Box 60338, Nashville, TN 37206.  Earmark check “housing.”

Thanking you in advance for your support of affordable housing in Nashville!
